Dustin brings a wealth of executive and public policy experience to our team. As a former small business owner, bank and nonprofit executive, and in various roles across all levels of government, Dustin has a comprehensive background in leadership and management.
Most recently, Dustin served as the President and CEO of Young Americans Bank and Young Americans Center for Financial Education. In this role, he led a significant turnaround effort by restructuring corporate governance and internal operations, modernizing outdated branding and technology, and developing a comprehensive multi-year strategic plan. His leadership fostered a shared vision and aligned incentives between the two organizations, paving the way for substantial growth.
Prior to this, Dustin led a successful executive management consulting firm, providing strategic oversight and business development expertise to a diverse portfolio of small to medium-sized businesses. He played a crucial role in founding and building several impactful nonprofit organizations focused on issue education and policy advocacy.
Elected to the Aurora City Council in Colorado’s third-largest city, Dustin served as an At-Large member and Mayor Pro Tem. During his tenure, he championed pragmatic solutions to improve infrastructure, address the challenge of homelessness, enhance public safety, and reduce bureaucratic red tape. He chaired the city’s Management and Finance and Public Safety Committees and represented Aurora on the Board of Directors for both the Aurora Economic Development Council and the Fitzsimons Innovation Community on the Anschutz Medical Campus, a leading center for health and life sciences. His government experience also includes serving as the District and Communications Director for a Member of Congress and as the Policy Director for the Colorado State Senate Minority Leader.
Dustin’s national experience includes his role as a regional director and Vice President of Strategy and Innovation for a national nonprofit, where he spearheaded initiatives to drive continuous improvement and strategic growth.
A proud graduate of Colorado State University, Dustin lives in Southeast Aurora with his wife, Ann, and four children. He is an avid runner and fitness enthusiast who values spending quality time with his family.
